The 2nd annual Mills50 Historic Homes Tour was last weekend.  We had the pleasure of sponsoring one of the homes and participating in the tour and after party at The Guesthouse.  This year’s tour featured 5 homes in Colonialtown North.  Our team owner Kathryn Stelljes is the current vice president of the Mills50 Board of Directors and worked to chair the committee that organized the tour.

We sponsored 918 N Shine, a lovely 1935 bungalow that has been renovated over the years.  The current owner Fran has owned the property since 1987 and has expanded the front of the home, enclosed the front porch, added a carport with tongue and groove paneling in a white wash, expanded the kitchen while preserving original windows to create a charming breakfast nook, and so much more.  All of her renovations have kept the historic charm while enhancing the space.  The cherry on top is her backyard!  A lovely deck is covered with pergola and vines overlooking a lush and manicured garden and matching storage shed.

After the tour the winner was announced and we all enjoyed appetizers provided by Black Rooster Taqueria while enjoying cocktails from the back patio at The Guesthouse.  Coincidentally the winner of this year’s tour was Fran at 918 N Shine Ave!   All of the participants also were awarded gift certificates for businesses in the Mills50 Main Street District.
